Biography:
She was born in Salavina, Santiago de Estero, Argentina in 1817. She moved to Córdoba and later Buenos Aires where she showed her piety during a yellow fever epidemic. She entered the monasterio de las capuchinas. She became blind, but later recovered her sight. In 1872 she founded the Conservatorio de Caridad de San Francisco, which served as a hospital. Her work earned her the recognition of Pope León XIII. She died in Buenos Aires on 31 July 1901. (Sosa de Newton, 295)
