Biography:
From Bogotá, she was the daughter of Josefa Díaz, and sister of Manuela, Mercedes and Joaquina Girardot. She and her family were exiled to Fontibón in August 1816. They were probably held in the Cárcel Chiquito before being exiled. (Monsalve, 156, 159)




She attended the Sumalave pro-independence tertulias in Bogotá with her mother and sister. Her family was great friends with the Almeydas. (Díaz y Díaz, 29, 34)
