From Maracaibo, Venezuela, she was the mother of teniente coronel Francisco Delgado (who was described in the royalist press as the main executor of the Maracaibo revolution against Spain) and of Josef María Delgado.
In February 1821 she was crying and inconsolable, endlessly cursing her sons. She fled from sight, lamenting that her distinguished house was full of ignominy, mourning and bitterness. Her daughters followed their mother's example. She is heralded as an example of fidelity to the crown. (Gaceta de Caracas, 14/3/1821, pp.155-156)
