Biography:
He was involved with Nariño and was sent from Bogotá into exile in Spain with Nariño in 1794. His cousin, Manuel Ayala, was involved in the Gual-España rebellion. (Monsalve, 18)

He was executed by the royalists in Bogotá for his independence activities. (Lynch, 242)

He was executed on 12 August 1816. He was a cousin of the Santamaría, Gutiérrez Vergara and Caicedo families. (Monsalve, 148)
