She was married to Coronel Salinas, a conspirator in the Chillo group.
She was mentioned in connection to the Chillo conspiracy, Quito, in 1809. She was charged with inciting the troops to rebel. In 1810? during a mass attack on prisoners and others who claimed to support Ferdinand VII, by others in the name of Napoleon, 40 soldiers came to her house and threatened to break down the door. They wanted to take her to the palace. She asked for time to put on her best clothes; this was denied. So she left the house carrying her baby daughter, with another daughter, Dolores, beside her and they were escorted to the palace. One officer ordered them to be shot, but another stopped him saying there were no orders. They were taken to a damp prison cell, before being taken to another cell in better condition. Here, she learned that her husband had been killed. (Monsalve, 41, 45.)
