Biography:
She was born in San Juan on 11 August 1789, the daughter of María Elena Albarracín and Juan Miguel de Oro and sister of Paula de Oro de Sarmiento, godmother of D.F. Sarmiento. She married José Genaro Rodríguez in 1822. In 1839 Sarmiento made her rectora of the Colegio de Pensionistas de Santa Rosa under the direction of her brother, Fray Justo Santa María de Oro. She continued to run this for a year after Sarmiento went into exile. Sarmiento asked permission to marry her daughter Elena, but it came to nothing. She died in San Juan on 8 November 1856.
