The sister of Ramón Picarte (born 1780, died 1835) who was intendente de Valdivia from 1826-29, on 5 September 1827 she wrote to her brother about domestic matters and voicing concerns about the level of the Mapocho River. (Vergara Quiroz, 181-182)
