Biography:
She married Captain José Silva Barceló in June 1834 and was widowed in April 1847. On 23 June 1848 she wrote to the President of Chile from her Santiago home pointing out that she and her four young children were living in poverty. She claimed, "como es natural en la mujer", not to know the rights of widows and orphans of the Chilean army and asks for clemency. In 1852 she was given a pension. (Vergara Quiroz, 226-227)
