Biography:
She was born in Mozambique and enslaved and taken to Latin America (Argentina?). She married José Bernardino Gauna in May 1808. He enlisted in the independence army in 1814 and in January 1817 he began to put aside 2 pesos each month to buy her freedom. He died in 1820 and she used the courts to obtain her freedom.
