Born around 1772, she was living in Juigalpa, Nicaragua, in 1782 (aged 10) when she was taken prisoner by Meskito chief Yarrincee to become part of his harem. She lived among the indigenous and tried to subdue them by marrying a chief. She escaped in 1789 with a friar. (Knaster, 460.)
