Biography:
She was one of the heroines of Tenza, Colombia, who was shot for defending the Independence cause. (Knaster, 486.)

She was shot in front of her own shop on 3 December 1817; her executioners then sacked the shop. She had helped and encouraged the patriots as they marched to Casanare. (Díaz y Díaz, 179, 183)

On 3 December 1817 she and Salomé Buitrago were shot in Casanare for their part in the independence cause. They were not tried before a court. (P. Forero, 158)
