From Salta, Argentina, the daughter of colonel Agustín Arias Rengall and Vicenta Cruz y Martínez Sáenz.
She took part in the war against the royalists, between 1812 and 1822. She's referred to as "una diestra amazona", who with friends gave information to the patriot leaders about any events that happened in royalist houses. She carried secret correspondence that contributed to the campaign against Güemes´ troops.
She married José Ignacio Sierra Goyechea and Justo Ruiz de los Llanos. (Sosa de Newton, 38)
