Research funding awards

Congratulations to the recipients of research funding awards:

  • Stephanie Coen (Co-I), with Jason Gilliland (PI), has secured just over $1 million (CAD) from the Canadian Institute of Health Research for their project 'Examining the influence of a school travel planning intervention on children's travel behaviour, physical activity, and exposure to pollution around their schools'
  • Sarah Jewitt (Co-I), with Sacha Mooney (PI), has secured £25,429 from the Newton Fund Impact Scheme for a project entitled 'Application of novel soil management technologies for poverty alleviation of traditional rural communities and enhanced environmental health of the Amazonian periphery'
  • Matt Jones has been awarded a Thesiger-Oman International Fellowship from the RGS, granting him £8,000 to undertake fieldwork in Jordan
  • Jake Hodder has secured a £3,000 grant from RGS-IBG to fund fieldwork in London and Geneva for his project 'Internationalising race: the League of Nations and the struggle for racial equality'
