Activities and Events
The SSAGC offers a range of professional, social, and wellbeing activities and events.
The schedule varies from year to year but might include a pizza social, a winter music event, and a summer barbecue. These sessions are open to both taught and research postgraduates, unless noted otherwise.
In the past we have held yoga and mindfulness sessions, and also sometimes provide some stress-relieving activities like poster colouring-in. These sessions are open to both taught and research postgraduates, unless noted otherwise.
These can include careers talks with industry professionals, workshops on professional networking, placements and public engagement events. We also offer monthly Shut Up and Write sessions to help postgraduates get going on their chapters or overcome writer’s block. Additional opportunities are also offered by the Graduate School. Some of these sessions are open to either taught or research postgraduates, and some are open to both – keep an eye on the SSAGC Facebook page for further details.
As details become available, events are publicised on this website, through our monthly Graduate School email newsletter and also via the Graduate School Twitter and Facebook accounts.
If you have any ideas for topics you would like to see included in the programme or if you would like to organise your own event at the SSAGC, please contact email@example.com.
If you are a postgraduate student from Social Sciences based on Jubilee Campus, take a look at the Jubilee Graduate Centre events programme.
