Study Support Tutor

Dr Lisa Rüll

During the 2017 autumn term, I will be developing a schedule of study strategies advice sessions for disabled postgraduate students. These will mostly be on Wednesdays in Highfield House. Additionally, I am hoping to also get across to other Graduate Centres, and some of that availability may be on Thursdays.

Keep an eye on the Graduate School social media and website for further details of when these will become available and the booking process.

  • My Disability Adviser colleagues will continue to pick up and organize practical support and recommendations for reasonable adjustments for disabled postgraduate students.

  • My Academic Support Tutor colleagues will continue to provide the similar specialist support for students with Specific Learning Differences (SpLDs e.g. dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADHD).

Dr Lisa Rüll

A PhD alumni of UoN (AHRB funded, graduated 2004 American and Canadian Studies), I started working in Academic Support in 2003. I have University and college academic subject teaching experience across the humanities, and over 25 years practice in supporting student learning, increasingly with disabled students.

I won a UoN Lord Dearing award in 2013. This particularly reflected my work with students with mental health issues and issues around perfectionism/procrastination, as well as my role in developing the Academic Support Study Resources and on the Studying Effectively website.
