Public engagement with research

Engagement Header

Public Engagement
describes the numerous ways in which activities and benefits from research can be shared with the public. We offer researchers a range of activities to help you get involved with public engagement. PE can inspire creativity and innovation; help to demonstrate research impact; generate public support for the University; and contribute to social justice and corporate responsibility.

New Perspectives

An exhibition held once a semester where six postgraduate research students explore the relationship between a work from the exhibition and their own research.

The Graduate School offers a wide variety of public engagement opportunities from photo competitions to our high profile Research Showcase. There are also a number of public engagement related short courses available through the Graduate School and Professional Development. The University of Nottingham is committed to supporting PE with research, and is a signatory of the National Manifesto for Public Engagement.
