Facilities at the new Derby Education Centre

We have now moved to our new Education Centre at the Royal Derby Hospital, providing state-of-the-art teaching and learning facilities for nursing students.

The new centre offers:

  • flexible classrooms
  • a four-bed bay skills suite
  • a simulation suite
  • a virtual learning hub
  • access to Medical School facilities
  • a large multidisciplinary library

It will also be a new base for education for both undergraduate and postgraduate nursing and midwifery students.

The new centre is co-located with The University of Nottingham Medical School at Derby and this will further facilitate and provide new opportunities for interprofessional learning.

Paul Crawford, Professor of Health Humanities

Paul speaks about the Derby education centre facilities and hospital, student support and sense of community.
This is a very exciting development for the School and will provide students with an excellent learning environment.

Being part of the hospital will create a vibrant, modern hub and benefit students’ clinical education. It may also lead to stronger staff collaborations and nurture new research opportunities.
