School of Health Sciences CPD Coronavirus (COVID-19) updatee

The University of Nottingham is committed to supporting CPD and PGT students during the Covid-19 restrictions and for 2021/2022 is offering programmes and courses using a blended approach to teaching and learning.

The School of Health Sciences is working hard to provide a quality service to enable students have the opportunity to continue their academic studies from our portfolio of courses to support professional development at degree and master’s level and we wish you well in these challenging times.

Following previous communication explaining our plans for teaching, learning and assessment, we would like to explain in more detail what this means for you and your course in the next academic year. We are all looking forward to a time of fewer restrictions to facilitate a positive student experience at the University of Nottingham. Although there is a current easing of restrictions, there is concern that the autumn may see a resurgence of Covid-19 infections.

With this in mind and your health and safety at the forefront of our planning we may need to reinstate social distancing measures if instructed by the government or health authorities. The following information about your course(s) is in line with current government advice on managing Covid-19. However, we may need to make changes to reflect any updated government advice issued during the academic year. If we need to make changes, we will inform you as soon as possible.

Implementing a blended approach to teaching and learning, students will be exposed to a variety of experiences including interactive digital learning alongside live sessions. Timetables will identify whether lectures and seminars are live or recorded and will be supported by tutorials, guided learning activities, independent study and assessments. Students will have the opportunity to continue to experiment with information technology, and innovative teaching methods to facilitate acquisition of new knowledge and skills to enhance professional practice.

The safety of our students and staff is our priority and in accordance with UK Government advice we will keep you updated. Applications for the next academic year will continue to be accepted and we are working hard to continue to provide the quality of service you have invested in. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact Chrissie Bousfield.
