Rachael Martin

Teaching Associate in Midwifery, Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences



Rachael has worked as a clinical midwife across antenatal, intrapartum, postnatal and community care settings in a variety of consultant led and along-side midwifery led units within the UK and Australia. She has experience teaching and supporting midwifery students in practice as a Clinical Facilitator.

Rachael also has experience in clinical governance and risk management having worked as a Clinical Negligence Scheme for Trusts (CNST) Implementation Midwife as part of a team which achieved CNST Levels 2 and 3 for the NHS Trust.

From 2014 Rachael taught Midwifery at Birmingham City University, where she lead modules on Evidence Based Practice, Foundations and Clinical Skills, Obstetric Emergencies and Professional Practice. During this time she was link tutor for Good Hope Hospital in Sutton Coldfield. Rachael moved to The University of Nottingham in January 2018, where she enjoys teaching research methods, professional issues and clincial skills.
