Raising a Concern about a Student on a Course in the School

Healthcare professionals of the future need to ensure that they meet the requirements of both the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as fit, caring, responsible, professional individuals who will have the privilege of caring for vulnerable patients and clients during their careers.

The School of Health Sciences at The University of Nottingham will ensure that their graduates are of the highest standards and fit to care for patients. In order to do this, we will make certain that they meet all professional requirements in terms of their attitude and behaviour.

To achieve this, we have a very robust system which enables the public, other students and professionals to identify issues of concern, which may have a number of outcomes – in terms of identifying students who need help and support as well as managing those whose behaviour falls short of our high standards.

We are fully committed that the future healthcare workforce is fit for purpose and graduates from the School of Health Sciences display the highest possible level of professionalism and conduct.

Should you wish to raise a concern about a student on one of our courses, please complete and submit the appropriate Concern Form, found at the link below:

A mobile friendly version of the Concern Notification Form is also available here: Concern Notification Mobile Form.

Your concern will be considered under the Faculty Fitness to Practise procedure.  All concerns will be treated in confidence, but we cannot guarantee that the identity of the person raising the concern will not be revealed; in the event of a concern about a student proceeding to the fitness to practice committee.

If you require any further information, have trouble filling in the online form or have any queries about raising a concerns or the process please contact SS-FTP@exmail.nottingham.ac.uk
