Introduction
Pressure is defined as force per unit area and consequently it depends upon both force and the area over which the force is applied.
For example, if you wear normal shoes while walking in deep snow you will sink in, and find it hard going.
However, if you wear the right snowshoes the force (your body weight) is spread over a larger area, which will allow you to walk much more easily in the snow.
