Application process

The initial advert is given on another page. On line applications are to be sent to the partner institutions not later than January 31st 2013 (according to links listed below). The applications should include:

  • any local application form
  • a statement of research interests;
  • a curriculum vitae;
  • a publication list;
  • at least two reference letters (specifying name, last name and e-mail of each referee).

At the end of the selection process the candidates will be informed by e-mail about the result of their application. Selected candidates will then be interviewed by the selection committee either in person or in remotely (skype or similar).

Eligibility Criteria

  1. You should not hold a PhD 
  2. You must have less that 4 years of research experience (i.e. it should be less than 4 years since you received the degree that gave you access to doctoral studies) at the date when you start your contract for this post.
  3. You should not have lived, worked or studied in the country of your host institution for more than 12 months in the last 3 years (excluding short holidays).
  4. You should be able to start the fellowship as soon as possible after official communication of acceptance and absolutely not later than November 1st, 2013.  

Exclusion Criteria

  • No undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in science, engineering, maths, technology
  • Unable to fulfil language requirements of host institution
  • Unable to fulfil secondment requirements for legal or personal reasons.

Recruitment Criteria  

Essential

  • Academic excellence
  • 2 acceptable references
  • A strong interest in MRI methods development and the application of MRI in neuroscience and/or medical diagnosis 
  • Proactive, enthusiastic person
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Strong spoken and written skills in language of host partner 

Desirable

  • Prior experience in MRI methods development and the application of MRI in neuroscience and/or medical diagnosis. 
  • Tangible prior academic achievements
  • Computer programming (probably C++ and/or Matlab but specifics may vary depending on host partner) or electronics skills
  • Scientific writing or other relevant transferable skills
  • Willing and able to work in a multi-disciplinary environment
