Current Research

I explore the issue of mood, mental pathology and existential crisis and the contribution theology and philosophy makes to understanding psychic realities and mental contents. My thesis is a philosophical and theological analysis of imagination & melancholia in terms of an ontology and pathology of the soul. It explores the relationship between imagination and melancholia and how it interposes broader discussion of the nature of the soul.

Modules taught include: Theological Anthropology: 'Body and Soul' and Christian Theology and Ethics in the Modern World.

Interests include: the nature of the soul, imagination, mood and emotion. The encounters between philosophy, theology and psychotherapy. Metaphysics and ontology, Neo-Platonism, Western esotericism, mystical tradition.
