The Faculty of Science and Engineering is one of the newest at the University but is expected to become one of the biggest as the University rolls out its detailed, long term plans. The University expects to triple its number of science and engineering students to over 3,000 within the next few years. The first crop of UNNC science and engineering students began to graduate in 2012 and Master of Science degrees will be offered in a range of subjects in the near future.
The School of Mathematical Sciences at University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) seeks to fill one academic position at the level of Associate Professor. We are particularly interested in mathematicians and statisticians whose expertise complements the existing research areas in the School. However, the positions are open to candidates with research interests in any the field of Mathematics, Statistics, or related areas, and all applications received before the deadline will be considered.
The candidates must have an outstanding record of research, and be well-accomplished teachers who are able to teach a wide range of undergraduate courses including Calculus, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Mathematical Analysis, Probability and Statistics, and Numerical Analysis. Candidates must have prior student supervision experience which is clearly verified in their application package. All Mathematics and Statistics courses at UNNC are taught in English.
Salary will be within the range of £50,618-£60,410 per annum depending on skills and experience (salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance). In addition, an attractive package including accommodation allowance, travel allowance and insurance will be provided for international appointments.
This post is available from 1 September 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter and will initially be offered on a fixed-term contract with the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China for a period of up to five years. This contract may be extended on an indefinite basis by mutual agreement.
