£31406 to £40927 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

The Department of Cultural, Media and Visual Studies is one of three departments based within the School of Cultures, Languages and Area Studies. We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Associate in Film and Media on a fixed term contract from 24 January 2022 to 23 January 2025 on a full-time (36.25 hour basis). Job share arrangements will be considered . The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in screen industry studies. 

The primary purpose of the role will be to undertake teaching and provide advice as a member of a teaching team within an established programme of study. The role holder will also help to develop new course proposals and may contribute to curriculum development in the School.

The role holder will have specific responsibility for identifying the learning needs of students and ensure that the content, methods of delivery and learning materials meet the defined learning objectives of the BA International Media and Communication and BA Film and Television courses.

Candidates must hold a PhD (or equivalent) in Film and Television Studies, have previous experience of teaching small groups at Higher Education level and have knowledge or experience in screen industries or audiences.
