£31406 to £40927 per annum pro-rata depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

The Department of Modern Languages and Cultures is one of three departments based within the School of Cultures, Languages and Area Studies. We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Associate in French Studies to cover the period 3 January 2022 to 31 July 2022.

The role holder will be responsible for language teaching at all levels, including contributing to a first-year module on Paris and to individual and/or team-taught content modules in one or more of the following fields: contemporary French society, culture and politics, film and visual cultures, or linguistics. Administrative duties are also an expectation of the role, and these are likely to include acting as convenor on one or more team-taught modules and acting as personal tutor to undergraduate students

Candidates should have a PhD in French Studies (or be completed by the start date of the post in January) and have native or near-native competence in spoken and written French. They will have excellent communication and presentation skills and previous experience of teaching at undergraduate level.

This is a part time role of 25.3 (0.7 FTE) hours per week.
