Salary
£40927 to £50296 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

The University of Nottingham is inviting applications for a Senior Research Fellow to manage the delivery of a portfolio of research programmes in recycling acrylic plastics. Working in close partnership with Mitsubishi Chemical UK Ltd the successful candidate will lead activity in microwave process design, being responsible for the delivery of this high-profile activity. The role-holder will be responsible for training postgraduate students and postdoctoral researchers in the safe and effective use of microwave processing equipment, and will provide practical support and management oversight to practical microwave depolymerisation studies. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled researcher to develop and demonstrate their leadership potential within the context of addressing a major societal challenge.

The role holder should have a PhD in chemical engineering or process engineering, and a track record in leading research programmes. Experience in the design and operation of microwave heating systems is essential. The successful candidate will have experience of collaborative and industry-focussed projects, and have a proven track record of research publications.

This role is available on a fixed term contract for a period of 3 years. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours). Job share arrangements may be considered.
