£40927 to £50296 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

The University of Nottingham is excited to invite applications for the role of Strategic Procurement Partner (SPP) within the Procurement Department. The successful role holder will be responsible for expenditure within their category and for achieving value for money. 

The primary focus of the SPP will be to directly support stakeholders across the University to deliver the end-to-end procurement process, for tenders in excess of £100k, in a Lean and Compliant manner. This will include leading the development and implementation of category sourcing strategies, deliver sourcing projects that realise savings and ensure appropriate contracts are in place to meet current and future requirements for the goods and services within the category. This work is to align with our Responsible Procurement approach.

The role will require in-depth knowledge of Public Sector Procurement Regulations, category analysis, benchmarking of current costs against current market pricing. Procurement projects will require the SPP to advise stakeholders on compliance with the University Procurement Policy and the latest Public Contract regulations. 

The SPP will be responsible for managing relationships with senior managers, internal stakeholders and key suppliers. They will also manage contracts for devolved spend on goods / services across the University ensuring supplier performance within the Supplier Relationship Management framework. 

The SPP will be accountable for delivering agreed goals and objectives including cost reduction targets, increased efficiencies, improved delivery performance and clear delivery of social value. The SPP will work in conjunction with the Operational Procurement Partners to develop a comprehensive category strategy and ensure compliance through central University contracts.   

You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) or have a proven track record of relevant extensive work experience in public sector procurement with full Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) (or working towards).

This is a permanent, full-time role (36.25 hours per week). Arrangements for job share would be considered.
