£31406 to £42149 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Applications are invited for the post of Unit Manager in the Nottingham Clinical Trials Unit (NCTU). The role holder will work closely with the Senior Unit Manager to ensure high quality efficient administration and day-to-day management of NCTU. The post holder will lead and manage the Unit Management team, and have responsibility for ensuring excellent administrative, financial, and HR systems and processes are in place to support the unit’s programme of work, deputising for the Senior Unit Manager where appropriate.

NCTU is a UK Clinical Research Collaboration registered Clinical Trials Unit ( within the University of Nottingham. The unit designs and conducts high quality national and international multicentre trials across a range of health topics.

Candidates should either have a relevant degree with related experience or a proven track record of extensive experience in a similar role, along with experience of line management / supervision of staff, research grant applications and working within a multi-disciplinary team. Candidates should be able to demonstrate an ability to motivate, negotiate and influence both individuals and teams along with excellent planning and organising skills.  

The post is offered on a permanent contract. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours). However, applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week).
