£26495 to £28936 per annum pro-rata depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

The Division of Epidemiology and Public Health, in collaboration with the University of Plymouth have recently been awarded a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Health Technology Assessment (HTA) grant to assess the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of a novel Health Trainer led intervention for smokers who wish to reduce their smoking but not quit and who may be interested in increasing their physical activity. The grant is led by Professor Adrian Taylor at the University of Plymouth.

The Research Assistants will arrange and undertake regular face-to-face and telephone interactions with participants to deliver the intervention and be responsible for associated administration and maintenance of data records – all supported by members of the TARS team.

The successful candidates will be organised, IT literate, and have excellent communication skills to confidently work with a wide range of participants from diverse social and economic backgrounds. 

These posts will be offered on fixed-term contracts for 18 months and will be based in the Division of Epidemiology and Public Health at City Hospital campus. Please see role profile for working hours.
