£26495 to £38833 per annum, (pro rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience (minimum £29799 with relevant PhD). Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance

We are seeking a motivated and creative post-doctoral researcher to work within the NIHR Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre.

The person appointed will work on epidemiological projects to describe the occurrence and consequences of complicated diverticular disease. The post will involve utilising large healthcare databases such as the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) and Hospital Episodes Statistics (HES). The post will involve contribution to the design of specific studies, data manipulation, statistical analysis, interpretation of results and the writing up of results for publication in peer reviewed journals.

The successful applicant will have a PhD (or near submission) in Epidemiology or Medical Statistics and have a proven track record of working with health databases. The post holder will have made a significant contribution to relevant original research articles, for instance first author publications. Experience of undergraduate teaching will also be an advantage.

Hours of work are full time, 36.25 per week; however applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part time (minimum 29 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part time and the number of preferred hours. Job share arrangements may be considered.
