This is exciting opportunity for an MR physicist to work in the Sir Peter Mansfield Imaging Centre at the University of Nottingham. This post will support a new EPSRC-funded project that aims to demonstrate the capabilities of low field, open MRI for dynamic physiological measurements. The project will particularly focus on gastrointestinal, MSK and lung imaging applications of upright MRI.

The successful candidate will be expected to participate in setting up MRI pulses sequences, analysing images, and analysing data extracted from the images (working with another member of staff who is focusing on image reconstruction). The candidate is not expected to have experience of the ASG scanner software, but they are likely to be required to write new programmes for image analysis: our research group largely uses Python and Matlab.

The candidate will also be expected to participate in writing ethics submissions, and to coordinate and run some volunteer studies.

This role is available on a fixed term contract until 31/03/2023. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours). Job share arrangements may be considered.
