The ÖSD is a state-approved examination and assessment system for German as a Foreign Language. The exams correspond to the levels of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
Passing an exam like this provides you with an extra qualification to prove your language skills. Apart from personal achievement, it enhances your CV and can give you from certain level onwards access to grants from the DAAD (German academic exchange service) and the OEAD (Austrian exchange service) as well as the opportunity to study at German-speaking universities.
The Language Centre is an official examination centre of the ÖSD.
