With effect from the autumn of 2018, the programme on International Humanitarian Law will be inaugurated in the Nottingham International Law and Security Centre. The programme will draw together the many strands of expertise on international humanitarian law that exist within the School of Law and within the University more generally. Fundamentally, it will bring a sharpened focus to research and teaching activity on campus, making the University of Nottingham one of the leading centres globally for the engagement with international humanitarian law.
Among its range of commitments, the programme will host an annual autumn lecture in international humanitarian law; a dedicated roundtable for LLM candidates will be co-hosted with the British Red Cross and support and encouragement will be given for participation in the Concours Pictet.
Professors Dino Kritsiotis, Marko Milanovic and Sandesh Sivakumaran form the core membership of the Program, which is chaired by Professor Kritsiotis.
