Belinda studied Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic with History at the University of Cambridge graduating with First Class Honours in 1991. She completed the (then) Post-Graduate Diploma in Law at Nottingham Trent University in 1993 and was in the first cohort to complete the Legal Practice Course in 1994. Admitted as a solicitor in 1996 she practised exclusively in family law specialising in local authority intervention in the lives of families and children.
In 2017 Belinda was awarded distinction in her Masters degree in Child Care Law and Practice at the University of Keele.
A Fellow of the Higher Education Authority, Belinda has worked as the Legal Skills Adviser at the University of Nottingham since October 2019 and is a non-practising solicitor.
