Jia Wang is a Ph.D. Researcher at the School of Law of the University of Nottingham. She completed her LLB and first LLM Maritime Law at Dalian Maritime University. She obtained her second LLM Maritime Law degree at the University of Nottingham in 2018.
Before starting her Ph.D., Jia worked as an assistant judge in a local court in China for one year and was a prosecutor in a local procuratorate for another year. She also obtained the Legal Professional Qualification Certificate of the People's Republic of China in 2014.
Jia is also a member of the University of Nottingham Commercial Law Centre (UNCLC).
Jia is supervised by Professor Howard Bennett and Professor David Fraser. Her research is funded by Vice-Chancellor Scholarships for Research Excellence.
Jia Wang's research interest lies in maritime law in general, with a special interest in marine insurance law. Currently, her Ph.D. project focuses on 'Legal Transplantation, Marine Insurance Law and China'.
