Returning your library books

Any books on loan from our libraries will continue to auto-renew. You will only be asked to return books if they are requested by another user after we re-activate reservations. There is no date for this at present.

Return options

If you want to return your books, because you are leaving Nottingham or graduating, we have provided the following options:

  • Still in Nottingham? You can return your library books to the letterbox at Hallward Library. From Monday 20 July, returns can be made to the book box outside Hallward Library or inside the building during opening hours.
  • Some Halls and Landlords may be willing to hold on to the books for us to collect. Please check with them first.
  • For students who have already left Nottingham, we will share information soon about how you can return your books to us by post. Check the weekly library summary email for the latest updates.

Already returned your books?

If you have already returned your books but your library account lists these as 'on loan' or 'lost', please don’t be alarmed. Once our libraries have re-opened and we have been able to return all outstanding books, your account will be updated to reflect this.
