Careers services event - Study space to workplace (for postgraduates)

As a postgraduate taught student, you’ll be developing advanced study skills as part of your academic course. This event will help you to translate these skills into a new task: getting a job.

Attendees will receive an exclusive 'Study Space to Workplace' digital badge which you can share on your LinkedIn and with employers, a digital goodie bag with resources, along with reflective workbook.

During this professional development event, we’ll cover:

  • Using information and analysis skills to research employers effectively and build valuable commercial awareness
  • Applying academic writing skills to job applications so you can share everything you have to offer in a winning way
  • Drawing on communication and presentation skills to showcase your best self with confidence at interviews
  • Pulling all your academic skills together to support common workplace tasks and deliver results

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Build confidence in your ability to secure a job and thrive in the workplace
  • Experiment with using your existing skills for a new purpose
  • Learn new techniques and how to apply these when job-searching and making applications
  • Connect with other postgrad students and build your network
  • Access the expertise of staff from both the Careers and Employability Service and the Learning Development Team
