Year 12 Work Experience Programme

This is an opportunity to experience the exciting world of Life Sciences research first hand. The programme will run from 13th-17th July 2020 and will offer a variety of experiences across the week including:

  • Taking part in real research within molecular and cell biology, biochemistry, ecology, genetics, microbiology, pharmacology, physiology, anatomy, neuroscience, or zoology
  • Creating a scientific poster presentation based on your interactions with researchers and post-graduate students
  • Participating in interactive lab sessions and attending talks presented by expert researchers on different aspects of the work we do at Nottingham.
  • In depth discussions around applying to university, covering topics such as personal statements and interview skills.

The programme is completely free and is based on a first-come-first-serve basis, however:

  • A maximum of two students from the same school will be selected
  • You must be studying A-level Biology and A-level Chemistry
  • Your school must be within a 12 mile radius of the University of Nottingham
  • You must be able to commit to the entire week of 13th - 17th July 2020, 9.30am start to 16.30pm

We strongly encourage everyone to apply, regardless of background, as this is a fantastic opportunity to experience what it would be like to be a part of the University of Nottingham.
