Biography

I am an Assistant Professor in Global Health, with a background in medical anthropology and public health. My research is focused on migration and health, with specific interest in infectious diseases, mental health, gender, and wider disparities in access to care and health outcomes. I have methodological expertise in qualitative and quantitative methods, systematic reviews, and a strong interest in participatory research methods, cross-language methods, and patient and public involvement and engagement. In addition to this role, I am also Chair of the American Public Health Association Caucus for Refugee and Immigrant Health, and a member of the UK Expert Consortium on Migrant Health.

Expertise Summary

Within my research on migration and health, I have specific expertise in the health of forced migrants, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), migrant health across the life course, mental health, women's health, and disparities in access to healthcare. I am also interested in the use of participatory research methods in global health research, with a specific focus on using creative arts-based approaches.
