Current Research
Katie is a Research Assistant in the Biomaterials-Related Infection Group. Her current research includes investigating novel treatment strategies for otitis media with effusion, by investigating different agents that may target biofilms. She is testing the agents in combination with antibiotics against in vitro biofilm models. Concurrently, she is investigating the role of swarming and swimming of Proteus spp. isolates in colonizing urinary catheters.
