The School of Medicine, formed in August 2013, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the Athena SWAN Bronze Award. This recognises the school's commitment to supporting women and advancing their careers in the school.
Dean of School Professor John Atherton said: "As a new School, this is a real and tangible achievement. The award is testament to the hard work of colleagues across the School and we can be justifiably proud of this achievment."
He also thanked the school's Career Development and Equity Committee (CDEC), led by Professor Helen Budge and Andrea Greener, who managed the application process.
Read more about what the application involved, its significance and selected profiles in the special feature--Women in Medicine--on page 10 of the school's annual newsletter.
