PhD student and medical undergraduate to receive Vice Chancellor's Medals

 

The School of Medicine is delighted to announce that Hisham AlAhwany, a PhD student in the Division of Medical Sciences and Graduate Entry Medicine, and Fady Anis, a fourth-year medical student, have been successfully nominated for the Vice-Chancellor's Medal 2018, in recognition of their contributions to the school and University and personal achievements.

As a Divisional PGR Representative, Hisham has contributed to activities designed to support international and UK students such as the School of Medicine Postgraduate Research Student Network and the International Office's initiatives.  (Read one of his blog posts as an International Student Ambassador: https://blogs.nottingham.ac.uk/internationalstudentlife/2018/03/05/international-student-ambassador-hisham-egypt/)

Awarded the Gold Student Leader Award by the Students Union, Fady has consistently been motivated towards making a change within the medical school for the past four years. Helping voice student concerns and problem solve, Fady has worked alongside his peers and staff with the aim of improving student experience and teaching within the medical school. His achievements include:
