Senior Research Fellow,
Dr Judi Edmans graduated from Liverpool College of Occupational Therapy in 1976, and then studied for her MPhil at the University of Nottingham, which she achieved in 1991. She also undertook her PhD in the Division of Stroke Medicine at the University of Nottingham, graduating in 2000. She worked for the City Hospital and General Hospital in Nottingham as an occupational therapist then came to the Division of Rehabilitation and Ageing at the University of Nottingham in 2003. She is now a senior research fellow.
Stroke rehabilitation, more than twenty five years of rehab research experience and clinical experience, occupational therapist, nationally recognised as expert in stroke occupational therapy, becoming nationally recognised as an expert in occupational therapy for older people.

Dr Edmans is currently involved with two projects in the Division of Rehabilitation and Ageing. One project is a service evaluation of a new occupational therapy stroke specific vocational rehabilitation service which provides an in reach service to secondary care to identify people who were working at the point of stroke and supports them on the journey return to work.
The second project is a feasibility cohort study to detect the suitability, acceptability and usability of a facial weakness rehabilitation system to the participant.
Both studies involve working in conjunction with Nottingham CityCare Partnership NHS and one is in conjunction with Nottingham Trent University.
She is also involved in reviewing and preparing guidelines for occupational therapists in falls prevention.
In the past Dr Edmans has been involved in research in the following areas:

- Evaluation of a virtual environment for stroke rehabilitation

- Systematic review and mapping of service delivery for long-term conditions in UK
