Biography

I am a Clinical Associate Professor in Psychiatry with a particular interest in Serious Mental Illness including psychosis and schizophrenia. My particular research interests focus around dual diagnosis where mental health disorders are associated with substance or alcohol use. I investigate these using neurobiological and epidemiological approaches with collaborations in USA and Finland.

I undertook my basic medical training in London. I hold Membership of the Royal College of Physicians and Psychiatrists. I was awarded a Medical Research Council Clinical Research Training Fellow in the Institute of Psychiatry undertaking a PhD in the neuro-imaging aspects of cannabis in early psychosis. I currently also undertake clinical work in high dependency rehabilitation psychiatry.
