Sadaf graduated with a BSc degree in Physiology from Kings College London. She then went on to pursue a postgraduate degree in MSc Immunology prior to completing her PhD in Rheumatology from University of Nottingham. Sadaf's PhD focus was on investigating the central and peripheral mechanisms leading to chronic pain in arthritis with particular emphasis on joint pathology. Sadaf worked as a Research Fellow within Queen's University Belfast investigating potential therapeutic targets to control retinal angiogenesis in diabetic retinopathy prior to rejoining University of Nottingham where Sadaf is currently investigating whether caterpillar fungi (Cordycepin) holds promise for the treatment of osteoarthritic pain, and the mechanisms of action by which cordycepin exerts its therapeutic effect.
