Clinical Research Fellow, Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences
I graduated from the University of Nottingham Medical School in 2006. I did my house officer and SHO jobs in Nottingham, Plymouth and Guildford then moved back to Nottingham to start my training as a Respiratory Registrar in 2010. I developed my interest in cystic fibrosis while working at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth.
In 2014 I took time out of my training programme to work on a research project, "An evaluation of the high frequency digit triplet test in cystic fibrosis". We aim to validate a speech-in-noise hearing test as a screening tool for ototoxic hearing loss in people with cystic fibrosis. Our patients are at increased risk of hearing damage due to the frequent, high-dose courses of antibiotics they require to manage chronic lung infection.
