Shatha Almushayt is a current PhD student in the school of medicine at Royal Derby Hospital.
Improving and learning new skills have always been great passion of Shatha. Therefore, PhD was seen as an opportunity to work on her skills in research. Shatha has had the Bachelor degree in Radiologic Sciences from King Saud University, the first established university in Saudi Arabia. She then has had an internship rotating between different radiology departments in King Faisal Specialist Hospital, a tertiary hospital consistently recognized as one of the nation's top hospitals. After graduation, she was employed by the same hospital in her area of interest which was the department of ultrasound and became an ultrasound technologist for around two years. Shatha has then decided to deepen her knowledge and take her education to the next level by pursuing a master's degree. That was when she became a teaching assistant in Princess Noura University, who has sponsored her. She earned the master's degree in Medical Ultrasound from Cardiff University, Cardiff, United Kingdom, which has also included training in the University Hospital of Wales. Shatha then became a PhD student in the University of Nottingham, supervised by Dr Nicholas Selby as a principal investigator and Dr Daniel Wilkinson as a second supervisor.
