Graduated in 2001 from Utkal University, India with bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy (with distinction) and continued to complete clinical Masters in Occupational therapy , specializing in Neuro- Rehabilitation from Mumbai University, India in 2003. Worked as an Occupational therapist as well as lecturer in a reputed University In India, before moving to UK in 2004. Continued working as a senior specialist practitioner (HCPC registered) in stroke and Neuro- Rehabilitation for NHS hospitals in London for the last 10 years. I have also worked in the senior management as pathway lead and professional head. My last job was in Kings College Hospital London as a Clinical Lead for Stroke and Neuro Rehabilitation.I have also completed a Masters in management in Health and Social care (with distinction) in 2010, from Oxford Brookes University , UK.

I am currently continuing my PhD exploring 'care pathway for survivors with sever stroke' along with Dr Rebecca Fisher and Prof Marion Walker at the school of Medicine, University of Nottingham.

Expertise Summary

I have a range of clinical experience and am equipped with a range of specialist clinical assessment and intervention skills in the area of Stroke and Neuro-rehabilitation (hyper acute, acute, specialist rehabilitation, community care and out patient setting) along with falls and complex rehabilitation, acute and emergency care and community rehabilitation.

My area of expertise and interest lies in upper limb rehabilitation and long term rehabilitation of patients with complex neurological difficulties.

Teaching Summary

I am an accredited practice placement educator (APPLE) for the College of Occupational therapist and have taken several students on placement.

I was also teaching for the Stroke Module run by the School of Nursing, Kings College London, and have run courses on clinical skills in Neuro splinting.

Research Summary

Currently continuing PhD Exploring 'Care pathway for Survivors with severe stroke'.

Past Research

Completed several research projects in the past as part of Masters projects and clinical projects. The last project was funded by the ' Kings Therapy Research Grant' , Kings College hospital London, titled 'The Orpington Prognostic Scale: A predictive tool for discharge destination in stroke survivors admitted to a Hyper Acute Stroke Unit ' .

This was presented as a scientific poster at the International Stroke Conference , Feb 2014, San diego, USA
