Director of Natural Sciences - Dr Chris Brignell
I have oversight of the entire programme, from a student's first contact during the application process to graduation where we celebrate their success. I work with colleagues across the university to put together an exciting curriculum that individuals can tailor to their interests and interdisciplinary training that equips scientists to meet the urgent challenges facing humanity.
My background is in Statistics, applying mathematical techniques to solve diverse problems such as how to maximise agricultural yields or how to analyse brain scans, so I appreciate the challenges and opportunities of working in an interdisciplinary context. I coordinate the Synoptic module, where I encourage students to research an interdisciplinary problem and then think about how they can further our scientific understanding so that, collectively, we get closer to unlocking the solution.

Student Experience Manager - Kate Tape
I am responsible for students from when they apply to when they finish. I organise activities, communications and events to welcome students when they arrive, support them while they are here and stay connected once they have graduated. I work alongside the Peer Mentors and NatSci Soc to create a strong Natural Sciences Community. I also work with colleagues across the Faculty, and in other services to ensure Natural Sciences students feel part of the wider Nottingham community and have access to the full range of experiences and opportunities while they are here.
My teaching revolves entirely around skills; making sure that students have what they need to be successful in their studies as well as planning for the future with skills they might need for their career.

Senior Tutor - Dr Matthias Kurzke
I am responsible for coordinating the personal tutoring system: maintaining communication with tutors and students; ensuring processes are in place for designated meetings; making sure that personal tutors are aware of what their role entails; informing new students about what they can expect from their personal tutor and monitoring personal tutoring for Natural Sciences.
I am part of the University-wide Senior Tutor Network which routinely meets to share best practice around the University and look at ideas which can improve our pastoral support. I have been involved with the Natural Sciences programme for a number of years and I am familiar with the way that the programme works and the support needs of the students.
Each of our contributing subject areas has an associated contact person who works with the course staff on the curriculum and provides advice and guidance to students studying those subjects.
